Our applied conservation science research and outreach program investigates the effects of land development and human activities on wildlife and biodiversity. We apply landscape-level field experiments, spatial modeling, and social science methods to ask questions related to three primary topics:

  1. Land Use. How should we design and steward residential developments to protect wildlife habitat on private lands?
  2. Recreation. How can we balance goals for outdoor recreation access and species conservation in protected areas?
  3. Citizen Science. How can we inspire conservation actions by citizens and communities?
